The Secret Powerful Mantra from Shaiva Tantra

This is the most interesting mantra I find encapsulated in the entirety of Shaiva Tantra.

It is indeed very secretive. Very few know about it and it is scarcely available within the net. This is known to the Shivacharyas as the 'Vyoma-Vyapi' mantra. This mantra is deciphered in the 10th chapter of Raurava Agama. It is closely associated with the boundless form of Shiva as Vyoma ( Akasha ) tattva.

The chapter begins by introducing the Vyoma Vyapi mantra as the most secretive and significant mantra, which contains 368 letters. This mantra was revealed by Lord Shiva Himself.

The Tantric scripture describes the mantra in a very meticulous way. Every word of the mantra has a verse to it which contains an elaborate meaning and discussion. You can study the Raurava Agama if you are interested in it. In this article, I will simply reveal the mantra.

The mantra is not found as a whole in ancient scriptures. Let me give you an example:

तदेव रूपं भगवान् बिभर्ति प्रभुरव्ययः

 तेन धर्मेण युक्तत्वाद्व्योमरूपेति चोच्यते

तस्मै शिवाय महते सर्वगाय महात्मने

व्यापिने व्योमरूपाय पराय प्रभवे नमः

tadeva rūpaṃ bhagavān bibharti prabhuravyayaḥ

tena dharmeṇa yuktatvādvyomarūpeti cocyate

tasmai śivāya mahate sarvagāya mahātmane

vyāpine vyomarūpāya parāya prabhave namaḥ

The elaborate stanza above comes in the Raurava Agama to reveal only two words 'vyoma rūpāya' which comes in this long mantra.

So you can guess the immense effort and time involved to decode the entire chapter to form the complete mantra.

  1. Your YouTube videos are amazing. Any chance you can do a video on Kunjika Strotum with English lyrics? Your students are also amazing, I grew up in the United States and my mom studied Sanskrit but my pronunciation is terrible.
