Been to temples or attended Yagas? Heard the priests there reciting some 'mantras'? Most of what they recite actually constitute Vedas. No,they are not 'mantras' from the Vedas. They are verily the VEDAS themselves.
In the Vedas,we come across verses ( called riks ) related to the Lord Agniand Mother Durga . These verses are combined into a very powerful hymn called ' Durga Suktam '.Durga suktam comes as a portion in the Mahanarayana Upanishhad of the Krishna Yajur Veda.
